Miss Fred, Supervisor of All Things RV

As we slowly start tearing down pieces of our old RV and hauling items into our storage unit, one thing has become abundantly clear: Miss Fred is in charge.

We may think we’re packing, sorting, and preparing for the move into our new (new-to-us) fifth wheel over the next couple of months—but Miss Fred knows better. In her eyes, nothing happens without proper supervision. Especially when hooman Mark is involved.

Boxes are being stacked. Cabinets are being emptied. Décor that once made our old RV feel like home is carefully wrapped and labeled. And right in the middle of it all sits Miss Fred, watching. Judging. Occasionally repositioning herself so she can see everything.

Because, obviously, Mark cannot be trusted to do any of this without her.

Every time something comes off a wall, Miss Fred is there. Every time a bin is opened, she peers inside as if checking inventory. Every trip in and out of the RV is monitored closely, usually from a strategic location that makes it impossible to step around her without acknowledgment.

She takes her job very seriously.

Packing up an RV is not just about moving things—it’s about closing one chapter and preparing for another. This old rig has held countless naps, road miles, campgrounds, and memories. And while the hoomans may feel a little sentimental, Miss Fred seems to view this entire process as a fascinating puzzle that requires her constant involvement.

Is that box empty?
Why is that going there?
Shouldn’t that belong to me?

These are questions only Miss Fred knows the answers to.

The move itself won’t happen immediately. There’s still work to be done, planning to finish, and remodeling ahead in the fifth wheel. But every item that goes into storage brings us one step closer. And Miss Fred, of course, makes sure no step goes unchecked.

What’s funny is how cats somehow know when change is coming. Miss Fred senses it. She can feel the shift. New smells. Less clutter. Different routines. And instead of resisting it, she leans into it—fully inserting herself into every moment.

Supervising from the counter.
Supervising from the couch.
Supervising from the box she just claimed as her own.

Cat Proof Moving Boxes

Ellie and Abby watch from a distance, choosing comfort and quiet over chaos. Miss Fred, however, thrives in the middle of it all. If there’s movement, she’s there. If there’s noise, she’s listening. If there’s work happening, she’s definitely involved.

This season of transition is messy, busy, and a little exhausting—but it’s also exciting. We’re preparing for a new space, new adventures, and eventually, more travel. And while the hoomans focus on logistics, timelines, and budgets, Miss Fred focuses on what truly matters: being seen, being included, and being in the way.

And honestly? It wouldn’t feel right without her.

So as we pack up the old and prepare for the new, just know that nothing is happening without Miss Fred’s approval. The boxes may be labeled by humans, but they are claimed by cats. And the journey forward—like everything else in this household—will be supervised closely.

Stay tuned. The move is coming.
And Miss Fred will be watching. 🐾😼
